I have recently been working with my spiritual growth and guidance from my guardian angels and guides. I have been directed towards something that i have always had a passion for, and that is children and healing. I have decided to follow my heart and will be starting my new adventure in alternative healing and therapy. I would like to know more about the Doula course and how much would the full certification cost, once the inteductory course is done.

I woudl also know if there are any set dates for next year as yet.

Looking forward to your reply

Welcome Kirsten,

It is always a good sign to be directed to something you have a passion for. My passion is also for healing and children.

The website has some info for you to read over as well but here is a breakdown of what the whole process to final certification looks like:

  • Introductory training: 3 full days compulsory R3000.00 with workshop manual
  • Enrollment into homestudy for certification Free with homestudy manual and forms
  • Advisor fee for 2 emails and 2 telephonic conversations R500.00 upon introducing and contacting advisor.
  • Homestudy entitles you to have full access to this board. There are hidden pages from the general public that allows doulas across SA to communicate, share, explain, unpack and write about what they need to move forward. It goes in depth into the processes learnt at the training, debriefing of difficult births, further assistance with homestudy, monthly newsletters and more.
  • Final completed certification package handed in for evaluation R1500.00

This excludes any breastfeeding course that needs to be done to complete the certification, required reading books which can also be borrowed if one doesn't want to buy them all, time and effort for the births and observationsSmile.

Depending on each person's ability to commit time the full certification can take between 6months and 2 years to complete.

Sacred Soace will also have multiple opportunities for ongoing education during the homestudy period to assist training doulas with acquiring the necessary information to complete their work.

I am currently working on setting new dates for the whole of next year so that people can begin preparing for the different workshops.

Check back soon for more info.

Take care,

In love and light

Lia
